Research Grant FAQs

Looking to apply for a Research Grant? We recommend you read through these FAQs to help you with your application.

Having trouble completing your application?

We have also developed a Writing a Research Grant Proposal to assist you in writing your research grant application and have experienced CNSA members available to help.

For assistance or further information please contact the CNSA RSC Chair at [email protected].

What happens after I submit my application?

Your application will be reviewed, scored and ranked by the RSC. Details of this process are described in the Research Grant Guidelines and Application Form.

Reporting Requirements

There are reporting requirements against any successful grant applications. Please make sure you read through these in the Research Grant Guidelines and Application Form.

Can I submit more than one application?

To provide a fair and equitable process for members, each individual member may submit only one grant application.

I've received a Research Grant before. Can I apply for this round?

Applicants who are successful recipients of a CNSA grant are ineligible to apply for another award in this program until 12 months have elapsed since the submission of a report on their previous CNSA funded research project.

I'm on a CNSA Committee. Am I allowed to apply?

Yes! We don't want to limit our volunteers. If you're a current members of the CNSA Research Standing Committee, other Committees, or a Board member, then you are eligible to apply or be named as a co-investigator for grants. The applications are blinded when scoring. If we believe there is a conflict, we will manage this independently outside of the Research Standing Committee.

If I'm successful, when can I receive the funds?

Funding will not be released to successful applicants until a copy of the ethical approval letter/s have been submitted to the CNSA Research Standing Committee.

Please ensure you have read the Guidelines carefully and contact the Research Standing Committee if you have any questions ([email protected]).
