Bowel Cancer Australia adds Exercise Physiologist to the team

People living with or beyond bowel cancer and their loved ones can now access a new service anytime through BCA's Telehealth Support Services Team. Healthcare professionals can refer directly as well.

Exercise plays an important role in bowel cancer prevention, treatment, recovery and recurrence. It can help reduce the number and severity of treatment-related side effects and symptoms such as pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances, cognitive impairment, mental health wellbeing, low anterior resection syndrome (LARS), as well as improving or maintaining function during and following treatment.

Bowel Cancer Australia has welcomed Kailey to their Telehealth Support Services Team, offering information and advice about exercise to help people can manage bowel cancer treatment, recovery, and recurrence.

Exercise is still an underutilised part of cancer treatment process, however this is something that needs to change. The idea of exercising can be overwhelming, and we here to work with you to achieve a realistic routine that will work for you.” ~ Kailey.
