Radiation Oncology Resources
CNSA is pleased to inform members, and the wider cancer nursing workforce, that the latest Radiation Oncology Practice Standards (version 3, published in 2023) includes nursing practice principles for the first time. This further consolidates the importance of the multidisciplinary care needed in the delivery of radiation oncology services.
The Standards presents 16 standards developed for radiation oncology practices to assist facilities to achieve best practice; and have been revised to incorporate ongoing developments in innovative technology and bring into sharper focus the importance of the patient experience.
We are delighted that the ROPS are now available for distribution; and look forward to working with Radiation Oncology Nurses across the country to educate their workplaces and implement best practice.
CNSA would like to thank Margie Hjorth, Gabby Vigar, Pauline Rose, Michelle Roach and Lucy Gent for their expertise and advocacy to get the nursing voice heard and considered, along with our hard working RON SPN committee who were heavily involved in reviewing and providing guidance along the way.
