MooGoo Post-Graduate Scholarships
The MooGoo Postgraduate Cancer Nursing Scholarship awards $30,000 in prize money to postgraduate cancer nurse students to further enhance the education of the cancer nursing workforce in Australia.

In 2026 4 x scholarships will be awarded – 2 x $5,000 Early Career Focus (for nurses within their first 5 years of practice) and 2 x $10,000 General (for all eligible postgraduate cancer nursing students). As part of the scholarship, CNSA supports the successful recipients with CNSA membership and free registration for our Annual Congress in June, where the successful recipients will be announced.
The selection of winners (4 x postgraduate cancer nursing students) is dependent upon completing a short 800-1000 word essay and meeting eligibility criteria. Details of eligibility for the 2026 scholarship round are outlined below.
Eligibility Criteria
All submissions must meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must complete a short 1000 word (maximum) essay answering “How will your future career help to enhance the lives of those undergoing cancer treatment?”
- Within the essay, please ensure you:
- State the professional outcomes you intend to achieve
- Specify the professional postgraduate program you intend to study and outline how the scholarship funds will be utilised toward your enrolment.
- Eligibility Highlights
- Open to Australian residents currently enrolled (or intending to enrol) in a postgraduate degree relevant to their clinical practice.
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a brief video answering a few specific questions that outline how they plan to utilise the scholarship funds, their chosen education pathways, and what they intend to achieve
- Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide proof of current certification or enrolment in a postgraduate Cancer Nursing program within 12 months of receiving the scholarship.
- Previous recipients are not eligible to apply.

We encourage you to plan for attendance at the CNSA Annual Congress to be formally recognised if you are successful in receiving this scholarship. The Congress will run from 17 - 19 June at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre. Please have a chat with your Manager about your application so they are aware of this element of the submission and can look at rostering support.

General Information
- How many scholarships are available in 2026? There are four scholarships available, total value $30,000.
- What are the different categories? For the first time, we have 2 x Early Career Focus (for nurses within their first 5 years of practice) and 2 x Open General scholarships.
- What is included besides the scholarship funds? Recipients receive a complimentary CNSA membership and free registration for the 2026 CNSA Annual Congress in Perth.
Eligibility
- I’m not currently enrolled in a course; can I still apply? Yes, as long as you intend to enrol and can provide proof of enrolment in a postgraduate Cancer Nursing program within 12 months of receiving the funds.
- Am I considered an "Early Career" nurse? This category is specifically for nurses who have been in practice for 5 years or less. If you have passed the 5-year mark, please apply under the "Open General" category.
- Can I apply if I have won a MooGoo scholarship before? No, previous recipients are not eligible to apply. However, if you were not successful in previous years we encourage you to apply again.
- Do I have to be an Australian resident? Yes, the scholarship is open to Australian residents only.
The Application Process
- What is the word limit for the essay? The essay must be between 800 and 1,000 words.
- How are applications judged? Entries are assessed by a panel from MooGoo and the CNSA based on patient impact, career goals, and the clarity of your financial plan.
- Can I submit a late application? Unfortunately, no. Applications close strictly at 11:59pm AWST on 11th April 2026.
- What happens if I am shortlisted? Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and requested to complete a short video outlining a few questions to be reviewed by the panel. ONLY successful applicants will be contacted.
Success & Requirements
- When will I find out if I’ve won? Only successful recipients will be notified privately by 15th May 2026.
- Do I have to attend the Congress in Perth? While not mandatory for eligibility, we strongly encourage attendance (17–19 June 2026) so you can be formally recognised by your peers.
- What happens after I receive the money? You will need to provide your bank details for payment within 30 days. You are also required to submit a report within two months detailing how the funds were used and the outcomes achieved.
