Why join a committee?
  • Understand the profession. It's always beneficial to meet others in cancer nursing workforce who you can talk to about the state of the profession, its challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop personal friendships. You'll meet individuals who have common interests and share a passion for the profession that you love as well. It's not uncommon for Committee members to make life-long friendships while being involved.
  • Address challenges and opportunities. As a Committee member, you're able to prioritise the issues that you see as most important and have a voice at the table. You're able to make a difference in the areas that matter most.
  • Deliver education and share knowledge. A key function of our State Groups and Specialist Practice Networks is to facilite education, develop resources and provide professional development opportunities. Supported by CNSA National Office, we look to our committes to provide on the ground knowledge and expertise to ensure we're delivering on what the membership needs.

In terms of commitment, we anticipate your commitment will be generally 2 - 4 hours a month (with a formal meeting and ad hoc email communication, but sometimes this commitment will fluctuate based on when education and events are held, or when a key project is in play and needs increased focus.
