Specialist Practice Networks (SPNs)
Specialist Practice Networks, also known as SPN's, are networks of CNSA members who work in specialty areas or have a common interest, such as radiation therapy or gynaeoncology. All members of CNSA are eligible to belong to an SPN.

Cancer Nurse Practitioners
The Cancer Nurse Practitioners Specialist Practice Network (CNP SPN) brings together Endorsed NPs, NP Candidates and those undertaking study towards NP Endorsement across inpatient and outpatient, adult and paediatric, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, malignant haematology and palliative care settings and specialities.
CNP SPN members will have access to discounted professional development, networking opportunities and support from peers working at a senior clinical level across a broad spectrum of cancer specialities.

Travel Grant Subsidies
The CNP SPN offers a travel subsidy program to assist members with financial support to attend CNP SPN education events. Applications for $500 travel grant can be submitted after the workshop via our online form here.
The Subsidy will provide assistance towards airfares or accommodation costs to assist the applicant to attend any of the proposed face to face education events annually. The subsidy will be a maximum value of $500 per calender year.
Eligibility Criteria
Any individual who is a current member of the CNP SPN may apply for the grant. Each individual is only eligible to apply once in a calendar year.
The applicant must be both a financial member of CNSA and a member of the CNP SPN to be eligible.

Gynaecological Oncology Nurses
The CNSA Gynaecological Oncology Nurses Specialist Practice Network, also known as the GYN SPN, was launched at CNSA Annual Congress 2011. Currently there are over 100 members, including nurses working in both public and private hospitals across Australia and New Zealand.

Radiation Oncology Nurses
The CNSA Radiation Oncology Nurses Specialist Practice Network (RON SPN) was the first CNSA SPN. The membership is strong and continues to grow. We have representation from metro, rural and regional centers across Australia from both the private and public sector. With such a broad representation we have a great opportunity to network and share experience, skills and knowledge.
The CNSA RON SPN committee is a dynamic group of leaders in radiation oncology nursing and are committed to advancing our specialty within the oncology setting and beyond. The committee supports the chair and members to promote our SPN, disseminate information, education and standards of care.

Vascular Access Device & Infusion Therapy
The CNSA Vascular Access Device and Infusion Therapy Specialist Practice Network committee (VAD&IT SPN) is a dynamic, engaged and committed team of cancer clinicians who are passionate about evidence-based vascular access education and management.
Educational, academic, clinical and research opportunities underpin the work undertaken by the SPN. Currently, the CNSA Vascular Access Devices: Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guidelines are being updated topic by topic. Evidenced-based, graded recommendations for the clinical management of Patency, occlusion prevention and management were launched in November 2021 and the next topic device selection, and vessel health and preservation commenced in April 2022.
The guidelines are unique as they are a live document; newly published studies are revised and incorporated as appropriate on a monthly basis. The guidelines answer clinically relevant questions and are written for clinicians. We are proud to say they have been endorsed by five key organisations and associations. This work is complemented by regular educational events throughout the year and at the annual CNSA Annual Congress.
