Policies and Procedures

Our Policies and Procedures provide clear guidelines for operations, ensuring consistency, fairness, and compliance with legal and ethical standards. These documents support effective governance and professional conduct within CNSA.

Advertising and Sponsorship Policy

CNSA conducts a range of activities and maintains a variety of relationships with external organisations. These activities range from policy development to the delivery of goods and services to cancer nurses. This Advertising and Sponsorship Policy recognises the nature of the Advertisements and Sponsorship may involve Therapeutic Goods, and incorporates safeguards for CNSA to assist in avoiding breaching the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 (Cth) and other laws.

Endorsed Resources

CNSA is often asked to endorse resources by external stakeholders. We undertake due diligence on any document that we endorse, to ensure that a nurse has been involved throughout the development of the resources. If you are seeking endorsement for a resource, please refer to our Endorsement Policy and complete the Endorsement Self-Assessment Checklist. For more information, contact our Executive Officer at [email protected].

Prevention and Management of Bullying Policy

The purpose of the Prevention and Management of Bullying Policy is to provide a safe and positive environment that is free from behaviour that harms, intimidates, offends, degrades or humiliates any individual. This Policy outlines the minimum requirements and responsibilities CNSA Staff, Directors, Volunteers and Members and reinforces professional and ethical standards of behaviour as prescribed in the CNSA Code of Conduct.

Privacy Policy

CNSA has developed the Privacy Policy in line with the Australian Privacy Principles to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. It discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices as an organisation.

Professional Development Grant Policy

This policy determines the minimum requirements for the administration of CNSA Professional Development and Travel Grants. It promotes a transparent, robust process for assessment and recommendation of professional development and travel grants. Recommendation by the Education Standing Committee (ESC) to the CNSA Board of an applicant for grant consideration confirms that the applicant has met all eligibility criteria and the minimum standard required to be considered for a professional development or travel grant. Click here to view the policy.

Refund Policy

CNSA does not normally give refunds, however if you feel a refund is required please write to CNSA. In the event a refund is to be given from a Direct Debit payment then it will be refunded to the account it was deducted from.

Representation Policy

CNSA recognises that it is important for the Society to be represented on external committees and in attendance at a range of meetings, including consultations, to ensure that CNSA provides input on specific topics relevant to cancer nursing and to facilitate communication and collaboration between organisations. The purpose of this Representation Policy is to provide guidance on the approach to the appointment, responsibilities, reporting and remuneration for CNSA representation externally to the Society.

Security Policy

All transactions on the Cancer Nurses Society Australia (CNSA) site are encrypted for security purposes, using 128bit SSL encryption. CNSA utilises SecurePay as a payment gateway provided, a division of Australia Post. Credit Card information is not stored and is processed in real time. Survey Policy

Requests to recruit members of CNSA can be made for research purposes (e.g. survey and/or interviews). At times, CNSA will survey and/or interview the membership for information and feedback purposes. This Survey Policy outlines the process through which CNSA manages such requests.

The CNSA Name and Logos, and Third Party Usage

The CNSA name, logos and signatures are a valuable asset that are synonymous to the CNSA brand. It is in the interest of CNSA and its membership to protect the logo from unauthorised use, being altered or misrepresented. If you wish to use the CNSA name or logo/s and are a member or affiliated with CNSA, please see the Promotional Material Policy and Guidelines and CNSA Logo Usage Form.

The Travel and Entitlements Policy and Procedures are applicable to CNSA Staff, Board Directors and those who travel on CNSA funded business. Where travel expenses are funded by a specific grant or contract, individuals should refer to the terms of that grant or contract for guidance on expenditures allowable.
